From R&D to finished product
A team of 53 people with complementary skills (chemists, polymer specialists, physicists, technicians, biologists, pharmacists and physicians) uses biotechnologies to develop breakthrough products designed to treat specific conditions.
Urgo also reinforces the effectiveness of its research through private and public partnerships (university hospital centres, CNRS, ESPCI, Institut Curie, CEA, Universities of Bourgogne and Franche-Comté, etc.) both in France and abroad. Clinical studies are systematically conducted to demonstrate product efficacy and safety.
The Urgo motto: to perpetually innovate in order to meet the needs of its customers as effectively as possible. To achieve this, the company firmly believes that proximity of R&D with industry, marketing, sales and management plays a crucial role.
Innovative products offering a genuine medical service and having systematically undergone clinical validation. Since 1998, almost 15,000 patients have taken part in clinical and observational trials, involving more than a hundred investigator centres throughout Europe.
Innovation: a desire to invest in France
In 2005, €37million was invested in the new industrial and logistics site at Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur.
Urgo deliberately chose to strengthen the company’s roots in the Burgundy region of France for the industrial production of the innovations resulting from its R&D programmes. This investment strengthens the company’s position as French market leader and acts as a launch pad for its international development.
