How to avoid and treat mouth ulcers?

A mouth ulcer is a superficial lesion in the oral mucous membrane. It manifests itself through a painful ulcer with clear edges and a white, sometimes yellow centre surrounded by vivid redness.  Prof. URGO has a few pieces of advice and simple tips to help you avoid these painful mouth ulcers.

A few simple, effective tips!
Be careful about what you eat

Limit your consumption of certain types of fruit such as dried fruit (nuts), strawberries, citrus fruit, chocolate, hard cheese… Some medication can also cause canker sores (aspirin).

Maintain a good oral hygiene

To avoid recurring mouth ulcers, it is important to maintain good oral hygiene by brushing your teeth 3 times per day. In the case of recurring canker sores, you could also try a mouthwash.

Don't mistreat your mucous membrane

Also try to avoid biting the mucous membrane and brushing your teeth too hard. In the case of poorly positioned and painful dentures, don’t hesitate to contact a dentist.
