How to prevent and treat blisters?

Blisters generally form after repeated rubbing of the skin against a hard surface. Filled with transparent liquid contained beneath the skin, they can be very painful. Here are a few tips from Prof. URGO to help prevent and treat foot blisters.

A few simple steps to prevent and soothe your blisters
Opt for preventive dressings !

A weekend hiking in the mountains, new shoes… blisters await you. To avoid blisters, we recommend using the URGO Blister Prevention pre-cut plasters and plaster strip that can be cut to size and affixed to the area affected by rubbing.

Rule #1: Never pierce a blister!

If the blister is intact and has not burst, clean and disinfect the area and dry it before applying an URGO Blister Treatment hydrocolloid plaster. The plaster will help to relieve the pain and help the blister to heal.

If the blister is pierced, clean and disinfect it before applying a hydrocolloid dressing

If the blister has already burst: clean the area with soap and water, disinfect with antiseptic and apply a hydrocolloid dressing or plaster. As soon as the plaster or dressing comes into contact with the secretions produced by the blister, these secretions will be absorbed and the dressing or plaster will form a gel that promotes the healing of the blister.
